Northwestern Medicine to offer car seat check Wednesday in Sycamore – Shaw Local

SYCAMORE – Northwestern Medicine will host a free car seat check event for parents and caregivers.

According to a news release, the event will take place on Wednesday, January 25 from 9am to 2pm at the Sycamore Police Department (535 DeKalb Ave.).

Admission is free.

A Northwestern Medicine-certified Child Passenger Safety Technician completes a safety inspection of the car seat and educates and assists participants on how to properly install the car seat. Participants should bring their child and child seat manual if possible. The meeting time is about 30 minutes. Registration required. To register, call 630-933-4234.

Those unable to attend the event can attend a virtual car seat education class. In classes, our Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians teach parents and caregivers about current laws and best practices for keeping children safe in a vehicle from birth and beyond.
