in a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple MusicNoah spoke about her past struggles with Xanax addiction, and how it affected her mental health.
Noah said, “Downers, prescription drugs, [and] Painkiller” will be released in December 2020.
“Xanax — it was kind of my drug of choice,” she said.
Noah said he finally “asked for help” after feeling like he “lost all hope and faith.” “For so long, I’ve been in denial, denial, denial, pushing away,” she explained.
“I’ve called therapists and psychiatrists and I think there’s been a lot of confusion in the past because a lot of things clicked for them where a lot of the talk didn’t make sense.
“I got the help I needed and deserved, and everyone with addiction and mental health deserves.”
Noah also opened up about “personal things” he had to “come to terms with” after getting help dealing with his addiction.
“I’ve admitted it, and I’m definitely healing it,” she said. “But at the time, I didn’t want to live anymore. I didn’t want to live.”
“And I waited for the day when I wouldn’t wake up. I don’t know where it was going. There were so many scary moments.”
“I know you were trying to avoid being alive, or feeling the sensation of being alive, because sometimes being alive is painful.”
Noah also talked about how caring for dogs helps his mental health and how he feels towards recovery.
“It’s either the first time, or the first time it’s been so funny in a long time,” she said.
