The Niagara County Office on Aging has scheduled a series of five counseling and support meetings to answer health insurance questions from seniors during the current Medicare open enrollment period.
The first meeting will be held Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lockport City Hall, 6560 Dysinger Road. Our trained staff and volunteers can assist you with eligibility, supplemental insurance, prescription coverage, and long-term care planning.
All other meetings will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 1 at the John Duke Senior Center, 1201 Hyde Park Blvd., Niagara Falls. Nov. 2 at the Lockport Senior Center, 33 Ontario Street. Nov. 9 at the Lewiston Senior Center, 4361 Lower Mountain Road, Youngstown. on Nov. 17 at the North Tonawanda Senior Center (110 Goundry St.).
“Seniors have a lot of options, programs can change from year to year, and frankly, they can get overwhelmed quickly,” said Darlene DiCarlo, director of the Office on Aging. he said in a presentation at the meeting. “Our goal is to make all available information available to the public, answer questions and help people make informed decisions.”
