A Norfolk-based fitness chain has opened its newest NR Health and Fitness Club in Lowestoft. Fast forward to September 2022. The gym has been completely renovated and has a new look.
Because the company took over the former Nirvana gym, Sentinel – To cease trading and close in March 2022 – New equipment has been installed.
And after being closed for eight days to make the big changes, the transformation was completed Thursday at 10 p.m. This was just hours before reopening at 6:30am yesterday morning.
Boxer and club member and two-time Olympian Charlie Davison cut the ribbon to mark his “amazing” return, while club manager Dan Andrews praised the new facilities.
“We obviously joined 18 months ago and as a company we took over the kit that had been temporarily leased to a previous gym,” Mr Andrews said.
“As that lease comes to an end, the company invested back into the community by providing the highest quality kit.
“All equipment was removed and new kit was installed.”
The entire club has been renovated with 25 new spin bikes, brand new Hammer Strength and Life Fitness equipment, new mirrors and a new music system, and improvements to the changing and consulting rooms.
Now, new air conditioning units and new flooring have been installed, and walls have been knocked down “to create a larger functional area” to make room for a sled.

Mr Andrews said: ‘We have invested at least £250,000 to get to where we are today and it’s all for the right reasons.
“This is for our loyal local members and in less than two years we have grown to over 1,700 members, which is fantastic.
“We have improved our facilities to provide top-of-the-line kit for everyone.
