Lawville — Lewis County Health System (LCHS) and Lewis County Orthopedics announced the addition of Shane K. Woolf, MD, with more than 20 years of experience, to the medical staff. He has an interest in shoulder, knee and hip issues and specializes in general orthopedic and sports medicine injuries for athletes of all levels and ages.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Wolfe to Lewis County,” said Sean Harney, Chief Medical Officer for Employment Practices at LCHS. “Dr. Wolfe’s respected work in the field of orthopedics and his surgical skill and experience will be an asset to our orthopedic team.”
Dr. Woolf received a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine (Hershey, Pennsylvania). He completed his orthopedic residency, including spending his two years as a research fellow at the Medical College of South Carolina. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Taos Orthopedic Institute in Taos, New Mexico.
During his tenure as head team doctor, Dr. Wolf provided medical insurance and support to the Charleston Battery, Charleston Riverdogs, South Carolina Stingrays, Volvo Car Open tennis tournament, numerous high schools and other sports organizations. He worked in the US ski and snowboard team’s medical pool.
