It was a branch of Wells Fargo Bank on Windy Hill Road in Cobb County. Brian-Brown Easley decided to enter on July 7th, 2017. For the 33-year-old Marine Corps veteran, that’s where his life ends in a few hours.

Easley gave the teller a note that he had a bomb before taking the two hostages. According to investigators, Easley complained that the VA lost his disability check and left him homeless.

The ordeal included Easley’s call to the Channel 2 Action News newsroom and an hour-long conversation with the assignment editor. The standoff ends with a fatal shot from a SWAT officer.

The day will be dramatized on the big screen in the new movie Breaking, which hits theaters on August 26th. The film features John Boyega as Easley and the cast includes Connie Britton, Nicole Beharie, and Jeffrey Donovan. “Breaking” won the Special Jury Award for his cast of the ensemble at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
