Charleson noted that subsidized plans are ideal for people who don’t qualify for Medicare or Medicaid benefits, don’t have employer-sponsored insurance, or are independent contractors. He added that DACA recipients, asylum seekers and other non-citizens with work permits may also be eligible.
Nevada Health Link is not considered a utility charge. This means all your personal information is protected and will never be shared with law enforcement. The program has assistants who provide free support in multiple languages over the phone, online, or in person.
Dr. Jeffrey Reynoso, Region 9 director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, said about 86% of Nevadans who currently have insurance pay an average of $3.50 a day in premiums. He argued that even the small expense is worth the peace of mind it brings to Nevada families.
“If you think about it, you realize that for me, that’s less than my cup of coffee this morning,” Reynoso said. “Thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration and the Inflation Control Act, financial assistance will still be there for you in 2025, but the clock is ticking to get it and take advantage of it.”
