Enterprise, Florida – People living in flooded areas get help from neighbors who use boats and kayaks to deliver medicine and food.
Near Lake Monroe, homes in the Stone Island neighborhood of Borussia County were completely flooded. Some houses have two feet of water, some are higher and still dry, but they are surrounded by water. In some areas the houses are only accessible by boat.
“It’s a challenge,” said John Angell. “Now boats are a necessity.”
Angel and Robbie Dollard have helped people who are at home but unable to drive to get medicine, food and other essentials.
“If I wasn’t doing it, who would?” said Dollard. “No one else will do it for them.”

“Robbie is a saint,” said Jane Rourke.
One family who had kayaked from the area to go to work or school officially decided it was time to look for rental housing because the area’s sewer system is not working and there is nowhere to go to the bathroom. Did.
“I have electricity, I have a way to go shopping, but I have to be able to go to the bathroom. That’s where we draw the line,” Brian Racho said. Some have gotten camp toilets and such, but when you have all that, your patience literally hits the high water mark.”
