Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and Chicago, Illinois [April 4, 2023] — National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) today announced the addition of the University of Chicago Medical Comprehensive Cancer Center as the newest member institution to join the nonprofit alliance of leading cancer centers. There are now 33 academic centers in the United States that determine the latest evidence-based expert consensus recommendations for survivorship across the continuum of risk assessment, prevention, evaluation and treatment, surveillance, supportive care, and cancer care. It offers interdisciplinary subject matter experts on 61 different panels. .

Their work includes tobacco control and HPV control. Programmatic cancer prevention is also a focus, and we look forward to working with them as we continue to focus on our mission to help all cancer patients live a better life.”

UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center utilizes a wide range of unique and innovative education, training, clinical, and research programs. All of which have a particular focus on increasing the presence of underrepresented populations in oncology, with a particular emphasis on better understanding and serving populations in those settlement areas. These include training and mentoring programs for students at all levels, starting in high school, and partnerships with numerous community programs throughout the region.

In addition, UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center was designated a National Cancer Institute cancer center in 1974 and received comprehensive cancer center designation in 2008. Recognized for genetic classification of hematologic malignancies and pioneering risk-adaptive therapies. The UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center also has a long history of significant contributions to drug development and early-stage clinical trials.
