Some people need a daily dose of caffeine in the morning to stay energized at work, while others rely on caffeine at night to get 7-8 hours of sleep.
Deputy Minister of Finance Lim Hui Yin recently shared a TikTok video @huiying_lim, which shows other ministers flexing their muscles in a huge conference room. At first glance, it looks like everyone is dancing lightly in the conference room.
However, Hui Yin quickly denied any “dancing” and explained to her followers exactly what everyone was doing.
“Were the ministers dancing while working? Of course not! In fact, we were doing some light exercise for a quick break,” Hui Ying said in the caption.
Minister for Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh and UMNO President Zahid Hamidi were also seen taking part in light exercises. Hui Ying explained, adding that the motive was to keep everyone awake.
“The light exercise was done to keep everyone focused on their routine.”
“Have fun while you suffer.”
Some netizens are unhappy to see such behavior, claiming that the ministers are “having fun.”
“The people are suffering while watching their ministers having fun.”
“It sounds fun to be a minister with thousands of ringgit in your bank account.”
“Of course they like it. You get a few hundred ringgit in pocket money for a job that’s not that difficult.”
“Be as happy as you can.”
Meanwhile, some netizens pointed out that it is common for ministers to move around as a trick to wake up.
“It’s just practice, so don’t be jealous.”
“It’s a training exercise to wake you up. A hated person wouldn’t be able to jump like this.”
“That’s good! Don’t just sleep, wake up.”
“Employees in Japanese factories are doing the same thing.”
“There’s nothing wrong with staying active.”
“It’s good for your health and helps you wake up. It’s not a problem for me.”
“Try not to be jealous. Everyone has a way of staying awake. They did this to stay awake and not sleep. It’s common. We did that last time too.”
