Having become a beloved annual tradition, Boys Cheddar’s Kita Beis will be part of the group with an astonishing culinary and gastronomy experience – Beef tongue and mustard preparation (from scratch).
Beforehand, Talmijim had learned about his visit to Avraham Abinu about Malachim’s visit and explored every detail. They learned how Avraham Avinu prepared three tongues for his immeasurable munosa orchim, for the three malachims, a huge part. Students also found their tongues were served with real mustard seeds laid out by hand, rather than yellow mustard in a bottle.
On the designated day, the boys felt the spiny texture of their tongues (imported from Crown Heights by Rabbi Levi Kaplan) and cooked them in a pressure cooker. After the tongues were ready, the boys (at least the brave ones) were able to enjoy this delicateness accompanied by coarse mustard.
Thank you to Rabbi Silverstein and Rabbi Miller for this amazing, hands-on experience. It is certainly a memory that each boy will treasure for his life!
