After pre-judging for the 2023 Olympia concluded, former Fitness Olympia champion Missy Truscott was on her way to winning the Olympia for the third time. Missy Truscott releases statement after injury and subsequent withdrawal from 2023 Olympia
Missy Truscott detailed the incident and the rest of the incident in an emotional Instagram video. She first expressed her gratitude to her fans and well-wishers who extended their support to her. She then explained the reason for her injury, saying:
“I hurt my knee during my routine at Olympia last night. Honestly, it was a nightmare. I literally had the best preparation of my life. My body responded and I felt great in the Fiji round. Even when I first started, I was going all out to put on a show for you guys.”
Mr Truscott added:
“Something ripped my knee and literally knocked me to the ground. That’s why I was on the ground. I didn’t fall. I blew out my knee.”
Truscott was taken to the ER for pain management after the unusual injury. However, the former Fitness Olympia champion clarified that he won’t receive a full diagnosis until he returns to his hometown of Seattle. She was scheduled to return the same day to meet with an orthopedic surgeon and begin her recovery process.
“It’s going to take a long time to recover, but I’m going to try.”
Missy Truscott ended the video by congratulating Oksana Grishina on overcoming her situation and promising to come back even stronger.
