Noelia Voigt, 24, who was crowned Miss USA 2023, announced that she is stepping down from the position, saying the decision is in the best interest of her mental health. Vogt said in a statement: “My journey so far as Miss USA has been extremely meaningful as I proudly represented the state of Utah and then represented the United States at Miss Universe. Unfortunately, in 2023 I have made the very difficult decision to step down from the title of Miss USA.” .

Vogt, who studied interior design at the University of Alabama, said in a statement that she is proud of her work with Smile Train, a nonprofit organization that provides corrective surgery for children with cleft lip and palate, and of her advocacy work for cleft rights.
