“You could get some kind of phone call every day from someone who is in pain, who is struggling with suicidal thoughts,” said Vanderborough County Sheriff Dave Wedding.
Calls to the Vanderborough County Sheriff’s Office for mental health reasons are a daily occurrence these days.
Its cause is open to interpretation, but officers are prepared to handle such calls thanks to their crisis intervention training. There are still many things to do.
“By putting them in Vanderborough County Jail, we are not helping them. We are only addressing the immediate cause of what they did. I know I need to pour in the money,” explained.
Easterseals Rehabilitation is one of many tri-state organizations that provide a variety of services for mental health, including outreach, support groups, and education.
