With declining enrollment numbers over the past few years, some nursing institutions have allegedly painted their competitors in a poor light and indulged in turmoil to present their own identities to attract students.
Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has rescued a “victim” institute and, instead of believing the smear campaign, has asked aspiring students to verify the credentials of all institutions with the Indian Nursing Council (INC). I requested.
BFUHS sources have revealed that a number of nursing colleges are facing this “discrimination” campaign by several agencies in the neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
Due to the large number of students from Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir enrolling in various nursing courses in Punjab, several institutions in these states have indulged in smear campaigns, and some universities in Punjab have been accused of initiating INC. “After BFUHS officials were notified of the problem that unscrupulous elements were spreading rumors that many nursing colleges in the state were not approved by INC, we clarified information from INC to students and We suggested that the list be checked.The institution was declared suitable by the council after inspection,” said Dr. Avnish Kumar, Vice Chancellor of BFUHS.
“I advise my students not to be misled by pranksters. Students can even request information on the certificate of fitness issued to the university by INC,” he said.
According to information available at INC, 160 nursing institutions in Punjab offer GNM courses, compared to 58 in Haryana, 33 in Himachal Pradesh, 6 in Jammu and Kashmir, 6 in Rajasthan Compares to 67 state agencies. There are 91 institutions in Punjab, 29 in Haryana, 22 in Himachal, 10 in Jammu and Kashmir, and 81 in Rajasthan accredited by INC for Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Nursing course ANM is accredited by INC with 112 institutions in Punjab, 55 in Haryana, 5 in Himachal and 3 in Jammu and Kashmir.
All of these institutions have been approved by the INC after inspection under Sections 13 and 14 of the INC Act for academic sessions 2022-2023.
After conducting inspections of all agencies in the country, the INC withdrew approval from one agency each in Punjab and Haryana, and two each in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Notwithstanding the withdrawal of accreditation for these institutions, INC clarifies that those who hold the credentials of these institutions are eligible for registration in the specific states in which they completed their courses. Did.
