For Samvit Mishra, 2025 is about losing weight and staying healthy, but not a quick fix for crash diets or extreme training. Despite working full-time and not having a gym membership, Samvit managed to lose 19 kilos in just three months. His story is Sustainable Lifestyle It is sufficient to maintain a healthy weight for a particular age group.
“At the beginning of 2025, I realized I was 98 kg, slowly, unhealthy and needed change. I knew I had to take control of my health. Rather than choosing a quick fix diet or an extreme training routine, I decided to focus on sustainable lifestyle changes. My goal was simple. Samvit told TOI Lifestyle.
We told him about his incredible journey. Samvit shared his daily routine with diet and fitness plans that will help him lose weight
Have you followed a specific diet?
Summit: Rather than following a complicated diet plan, I stuck to simple, healthy, natural foods.

  • Breakfast: Fruits, Chila (Glam-crumbed pancakes), Poha (flat rice)
  • Lunch: Boiled broccoli, bitter gourd, besan cheela
  • Dinner (Early Dinner): Makana (Fox Nuts), Ground Nuts
  • What I avoided: outside food, packaged food, cold drinks, milk (no fast food or cheats)

A focus on homemade diets allowed me to maintain control of my calorie intake while ensuring proper nutrition.
What was your fitness routine like? How did you manage it at work?
Summit: I didn’t spend hours at the gym, but I made sure I was active every day. My training routine was:

  • Climb 100 stairs every day
  • 30 minutes of cycling three times a week

This combination of strength (climbing stairs) and aerobic exercise (cycling) helped me burn fat efficiently without exhausting myself.
There were days when I felt lazy, but I remembered that small efforts each day can lead to great results. Climbing stairs became a habit, and cycling felt refreshing rather than work.

How did you handle your cravings?

Summit: Initially I was craving fast food and sweet snacks. To curb this, we replaced junk food with healthy alternatives like roasted macana and fruit. Eating out with friends and family was a challenge, but I always opted for healthier options and controlled portion sizes. It has become easier over time to say “no” to unhealthy temptations.
“This trip taught me that Weight loss It’s about making sustainable lifestyle changes rather than extreme dieting or strict gym sessions. If you are struggling to lose weight, start with small, consistent habits. The 37-year-old doesn’t need flashy meals or expensive gym memberships.
