A new memorandum of understanding has been signed between HIMSS and the Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council.
Under this agreement, HIMSS will strengthen Malaysia’s healthcare ecosystem through digital transformation as a strategic partner of MHTC.
Established in 2009, MHTC is a government agency under the Malaysian Ministry of Health and is responsible for promoting the country’s healthcare travel industry. We are working with industry players and service providers to make Malaysia a leading global healthcare destination under the ‘Malaysia Healthcare’ brand.
In this partnership, HIMSS will work with leading hospitals in Malaysia to accredit the HIMSS Electronic Medical Record Implementation Model (EMRAM) through Stage 7. MHTC then recommends his HIMSS EMRAM, which measures the facility’s EMR maturity, to all hospitals. Its 73 member hospitals.
The partnership also aims to develop Malaysia’s healthcare travel industry in line with the Blueprint for Malaysia’s Healthcare Travel Industry 2021-2025. He covers four areas:

Knowledge sharing and capacity development initiatives Drive continued digital and technology adoption in the Malaysian healthcare ecosystem.

Strategic thought leadership initiatives Building the Malaysian value proposition Leveraging the resources, expertise and capabilities of both parties in medical travel and wellness.

Leverage HIMSS’s regional and global network the same as thought leadership platform Profile and expand the reach of Malaysian healthcare, especially in identified regions Focus Market; and

Forging new avenues for strategic industry collaboration To prepare private hospitals in Malaysia to adopt a digital maturity model and participate in intergovernmental partnerships for knowledge sharing.
