A video of Indian Army Major General Prasanna Joshi (56) doing 25 pull-ups without a break has gone viral on X Channel.
In a video shared by Lt. Col. JS Sodhi (retd) on X, Maj. Gen. Joshi can be seen dressed in his uniform and walking up to the gym’s pull-up station. He then does 25 pull-ups without breaking a sweat. The young Army soldiers present at the gym couldn’t help but applaud him.
“I salute and respect the physical fitness of Lt Gen Prasanna Joshi of the Indian Army. No wonder, in October 2022, German magazine ‘Statista’ rated the Indian Army as the best fighting force in the world. I am proud of the Indian Army. Jai Hind,” Lt Col JS Sodhi said in his X post.
“Major General Prasanna Joshi….In amazing health for a 56 year old,” commented another user.
Vinod Kumar, a retired Indian Air Force veteran, said the video inspired him to join the gym.
“Another reason why the Indian Army is rated as one of the world’s premier fighting forces. Maj Gen Prasanna Joshi…embarrassed, heading to the gym right now,” Kumar posted.
Another user, Rahul Thapa, said, “Major General Prasanna Joshi’s physical fitness is a reflection of the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to excellence. We salute his dedication and service to the nation.”
Pull-ups are considered one of the most difficult bodyweight exercises because they require a lot of upper body strength and core strength. Pull-ups are also difficult for many people because they require you to lift your entire body weight using a full range of motion.
