Here are the 5 foods you need to lose weight during pregnancy.

1. Turmeric

A bright yellow spice that has been treasured in traditional medicine for centuries, turmeric is a powerhouse of health benefits, especially thanks to its active compound curcumin. Nutritionist Ramita Kaur explains that turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and helps reduce excess fat in the body. She suggested drinking turmeric milk (preferably low-fat milk) before bed and adding a pinch of black pepper to it.

2. Fenugreek seeds

Known for its unique maple-like scent, fenugreek seeds are an ancient remedy that helps manage appetite. Controlling your appetite after pregnancy can be difficult, but fenugreek seeds can serve as a natural appetite suppressant. “It reduces appetite, increases satiety, reduces caloric intake, and controls blood sugar levels,” says Ramita Kaur. She added that one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds soaked in water overnight can be taken on an empty stomach in the morning.

3. Fennel seeds

With its subtle licorice flavor, fennel seeds have been trusted for generations to aid digestion. Plus, “it boosts metabolism, prevents water retention, and reduces excessive hunger,” says nutritionists. Chewing a teaspoon of fennel seeds after lunch and dinner can help.

4. Ginger

After pregnancy, you may need to give your digestive system a little extra tone. Ginger is best. Improves digestion, reduces inflammation and reduces appetite. A great way to consume it is to add one 1-inch piece of ginger to your evening tea.

5. Lemon

Tangy, refreshing and full of vitamin C, lemon is your detox ally. It is a diuretic, detoxifies the body and helps burn fat. Add 1 teaspoon of soaked chia seeds to lemon water during your morning meal.
