London Drugs said it was temporarily unable to issue new prescriptions due to “connectivity issues”.
The update comes as the pharmacy giant continues to “phasedly reopen” its stores in Western Canada, a week after a “cybersecurity incident.”
The company announced it had resumed core services at 40 stores in Western Canada as of Monday, with the goal of having all 79 stores open by the end of Tuesday.
“As we have communicated over the past few days, our store systems are necessarily complex and require connection to multiple third-party provider systems, all different in order to ensure a smooth and secure reconnection. requirements,” London Drugs said in a statement. Updated on Monday.

The company says if you need help with an existing prescription, you should call your local pharmacy or visit the pharmacy in person with your previous prescription bottle or device.

Services available in partially reopened stores include pharmacists, Canada Post and Insurance Services call centres. The optical facility is expected to reopen by Monday evening.
Meanwhile, the company said it continues to work with external third-party cybersecurity experts to restore systems at each store.
London Drugs did not provide details of the cybersecurity incident, but said on Monday that it had seen “no evidence that our customer databases, including the pharmacy’s patient or LDExtras member databases, were compromised.”
The company said it will notify customers directly if it determines that their personal information has been affected.
