Lisa Snowden shares honest story about finally getting better
Lisa Snowdon, star of 2006’s Britain’s Next Top Model, has spoken candidly about the struggles of menopause and the anxiety it has caused her as a result.
She gave her opinion on everything while she spoke. Closer magazine.
Meanwhile, she acknowledged that she’s “feeling really positive right now,” even though “there was a lot of guilt I carried around with me for years.”
A current thought might be, “Some of the things I used to worry about now seem like a waste of energy. My perspective has shifted to one of gratitude.”
“Instead of giving up on your health, be kind to yourself, be proud of what your body has done for you, and accept that you may look different than you did when you were 25,” because you’re not that person anymore.
“When your hormones and sleep are out of balance, it can really impact your mood, but if you can get it under control, you can look and feel good again,” she added.
For those unfamiliar, this attitude was born out of her own personal struggles, when she “had some dark days where I thought, ‘If this is my life, I can’t do it,'” mainly because “I felt so alone and confused. I didn’t know who I was.”
Finally, she also reflected on the menopause itself, admitting that “when you go through the menopause you are more likely to crave things like pastries and coffee and it just gets worse”, saying, “I couldn’t control my cravings and sometimes I would drink too much coffee and then eat a packet of biscuits.”
Ultimately, “it’s important to listen to your body. If you’re sweating and can’t sleep and you’re exhausted by the afternoon, then drinking coffee is probably not the best idea.”
“I know that coffee also contributes to my anxiety, so I don’t need to have another cup when I’m anxious,” she added before concluding.
