Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo sat down with CBS News’ Ed O’Keefe to discuss her recent recovery from inpatient treatment for depression.

“There’s a lot of stigma when it comes to mental health, and that’s part of why I want to share this,” Hidalgo told CBS News’ Ed O’Keefe in an interview that aired Friday. “The goal is for people to see him as no different than a politician who suffers from high blood pressure,” Hidalgo said in an interview with O’Keefe. included in the teaser.

Hidalgo announced her leave on August 7th. “Personally, it is important that this matter is addressed quickly, so I will be taking a temporary leave of absence while I receive treatment,” he wrote in a letter announcing his leave. “I remain passionate about Harris County and its people and look forward to returning in full force,” she added.
