KINGSTON, Pa. — People seeking mental health services can now check in at the following locations. Wyoming Valley Behavioral Hospital Former Commonwealth Health First Hospital site on Wyoming Avenue in Kingston It closed last year.
“We’re going to start small. We’re going to serve eight to 10 patients every day. (That’s) our goal. And we’re going to continue to do that for several months. We’re going to serve people We want to make sure that they receive the care they deserve, and that they treated us with compassion and compassion,” said James Davis, CEO of the facility. “That starts with cleaning, painting, restoring and making sure the hospital site is clean, so we can serve people in this community safely and have access to mental health services without having to go far. Community services are a top priority for hospital officials. Prior to this, people had to travel to receive mental health services, Davis said.
“Then people had to drive to Pittsburgh or take an ambulance from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, and there was nothing nearby. Dr. Davis says treatment at the hospital is just the beginning. Their mission is to ensure people have continuity of care after they leave home.
“We want to make sure people are connected, have access to inpatient services, have immediate access to outpatient services, and get families involved from the beginning,” Davis said.
