New interface: single page for data entry
All sections for data entry are now on one page, making it easier to edit your articles and allow you to edit from your mobile device or tablet. (Especially appreciated when I received a priority call to fix my typo after business hours!)
Best Practice: Use Call to Action Links
Call to Action (CTA) links appear as blue bars at the end of articles and are used to direct readers to relevant content on the YSM and Yale Medicine websites. This allows our readers to engage more deeply with our content and work and improve our SEO (search engine optimization). This benefits communication efforts.
For example, if you’re writing an article about an upcoming conference, you can use the CTA link to point you to the registration page. If you’re writing an article about a noteworthy research finding, we recommend that you link to your department’s research page on your website so readers can learn more.
New: Add Events to Associated Content
The Related Content section always contains links to journal publications, related websites and documents. You can now enter events that have already been entered in the calendar. You can use this feature to associate articles with upcoming conferences or talks. Or, if your site has a calendar of past events and a video is linked to the event, you can include this in your conference article.
New: Full integration of photos into your media library
Images loaded into news articles are now added to the media library, just like video and audio files. This means that you only have to enter the image once and you can reuse it. You can also select ‘Anyone can use this media’ to share the image with all other Beatrix users, or ‘Only I can use’ to prevent others from reusing the image. You can also.

If you don’t have an image for your article or clip, you can also search the public library for a suitable image. The library includes Yale University photography and stock art, and includes a search tool.
