Anna Bananas Bakery, Manahawkin
The bakery has plenty of gluten-free options, from muffins, custom birthday cakes and pies to cheesecakes with almond-based crusts and French macarons. Their Pignoli Nut cookies are gluten-free, and their cupcake flavors change regularly (this week it’s mint chocolate chip).

This Cluck U location has a dedicated fryer for gluten-free foods to prevent cross-contamination, and most of their chicken and wings, empanadas and wraps can be made gluten-free, including the Ranchero Wrap with chicken, lettuce, bacon and ranch dressing and the Balsamic Chicken Wrap with chicken, lettuce, roasted red peppers and balsamic dressing.
There are also gluten-free appetizers available, such as fried pickle chips.

Crust & Crumble Pizzeria, Asbury Park
It’s rare for a pizzeria to offer an entire menu with gluten-free options, and here you can order anything from salads and appetizers, pastas like grilled chicken or shrimp bruschetta with fresh tomato basil, bread sauce and fresh mozzarella, to veggie pizzas with mushrooms, jalapeños, red peppers, pineapple, scallions, red onions, portobello, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata, presto, broccoli, artichoke hearts and caramelized onions.

Cookman Creamery, Asbury Park
Most of the ice cream sold at Cookman Creamery is gluten-free, but there are also vegan options made with dairy alternatives such as organic coconut cream, almond butter, cashew butter, peanut butter and oat milk. Try flavors like Salted Chocolate with an almond butter base or Strawberry with an organic coconut cream base. The creamery also offers homemade waffle cones that are gluten-free and vegan.
Many of the cakes on offer, including carrot cake, are gluten-free.

Good Karma Cafe, Red Bank
This vegan restaurant has a wide selection of gluten-free options on the menu, including the Gado Gado salad, made with romaine lettuce, cabbage and carrots topped with smoky shredded tofu, mixed sesame seeds and roasted peanuts, and drizzled in a coriander-peanut dressing.
Want something a little more substantial? Try the Kimchi Bowl, made with brown rice, black beans and grilled tofu topped with fresh arugula, pickled radish, carrots and cucumbers, house-made kimchi and finished off with a drizzle of spicy Sriracha sauce.

Papaganache, Matawan
This vegan and gluten-free bakery offers a variety of options: try sweet treats like the lemon blueberry doughnut or double chocolate muffin, or hearty dishes like homemade soup or eggplant parmigiana.
Papa Ganache also makes whole cakes, including a black and white vanilla cake with chocolate frosting inside and out, and a carrot cake filled with cream cheese and vanilla frosting.

Mensa, Long Beach
This Mexican restaurant prides itself on being the only 100% gluten-free eatery on Long Beach Island, and the menu is your guide: try tacos like “The Birdie” with braised chicken, Brussels sprout hash, and chipotle cream, or “The Hippie” with roasted cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, raw shredded carrots, and chimichurri.
The restaurant also offers bowls and sandwiches featuring braised chicken, short rib, pork or roasted vegetables served with rice, beans and sides.
