Chef James Martin has revealed one simple exercise to help him stay fit after losing three stones.
The Saturday Morning star dropped from 17th to 14th place after joining Strictly Come Dancing in 2005. Since then, he has tweaked his diet and changed his workout routine to lose weight.
He said he used to eat on the go, “stuffing his face” with food like Mars bars, pizza and takeout. And although I had previously given up my favorite chocolate snack, I slowly introduced it back into my diet.
But James’ diet now includes about 80 percent fish, and butter is also a staple in his diet. The 52-year-old also revealed the simple exercises he does every day to stay fit.
In an interview with Best magazine, he said: “There’s a gym upstairs, but I never use it. I walk my dog and take about 20 to 30,000 steps a day.”
of NHS says A brisk walk of 10 to 15 minutes each day counts towards the 150 minutes of exercise recommended for adults. The report says walking is an “often overlooked” form of exercise that can help build stamina and burn calories while promoting heart health.
James, who runs a number of restaurants and bakeries across the country alongside his TV work, has previously revealed that he doesn’t like exercise. He maintains his weight loss in order to race cars, which is his passion.
Speaking on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, James said: When you get into it, you kind of get depressed and you have to get out of it and it doesn’t seem very good. ”
He added, “I don’t go to the gym, but… [my weight loss] At the end of the day, it all comes down to whether you can get in and out of your car. ”
Although James now has a slim figure, he is not confident about being called a “sex symbol” by some fans. Instead, he chose fellow celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo, his usual choice.
When asked how Best feels about being a sex symbol, James added: Definitely not.
“I’m already 50 years old. No, I’m just a guy who loves food, and I love eating food probably more than Gino.”
