when approaching 40th Last birthday, I was going through some big life changes. We just sold our business and that was a big deal. My confidence and energy levels plummeted and I weighed 80.8 kg (12.7 stone) and was 5 feet 10 inches tall.
After starting many mental health initiatives, including meditation, reading, and therapy, I realized I needed to take care of my physical health as well. The saying “sound body, sound mind” is so true.
My eating habits were poor and I was pretty inactive with takeaways, eating too much bread and pasta, and drinking too much. I knew things had to change as I headed into the next section of my life. So I joined a gym and had a PT assign me a diet and exercise program.
Jack, my PT at Roar Fitness, first looked at my diet and told me to keep track of everything I ate for the first three months and stay on 1,700 calories a day (previously I didn’t know how much I was eating.)
