I’ve been on Ozempic for 2 years… what happened to me and my warning to anyone taking it

The real housewife of New Jersey star Dolores Catania was one of the first crops of celebrities who openly and embarrassingly admitted to using ozenpics and similar drugs to lose weight.

Well, after taking it for two years and working on high school weight, Ms. Catania said, “I know it’s time to leave or let go of myself at a lower dose.”

The real star takes Murujaro, a drug similar to Ozempic. This contains tilzepatide, an active ingredient that mimics the brain hormones involved in regulating appetite and satiety.

When Ms Catania began taking the medication two years ago, she weighed 157 pounds. She has since lost at least 30 pounds.

She warned that anyone considering medication must always pass through the real doctor, but who knows what they are doing.

“Research is everything.”

Many people who want to try groundbreaking obesity medications discover that insurance plans don’t cover costs. This is $1,200 a month. In that example, they often move to an online prescribing platform that includes short medical professional consultations.

The drug usually comes from the pharmacy that formulates it, and pharmacists make it by hand using the main ingredients. Because the FDA does not regulate this practice, dishonest or careless practitioners may use broken ingredients or incorrect dosages.

Reality Stars washed over 20 pounds using trendy weight loss pills ozempic and mounjaro

2024 vs 2018: The 53-year-old reality star has washed over 20 pounds thanks to drug Moonjaro

Catania said Hello! The drug was a “changer in life” for her, who lost 60 pounds and her boyfriend Paul Connell.

She added: There are side effects like nausea, so you’ll need to take the pill for that. ”

Clinical trials found that people taking Mounjaro are expected to lose about 15-20% of their body weight in about 72 weeks. This medication works best when taken with a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

Ms Catania shared that she was once a “big carb person.”

“I was a doritos, chips, onion dip. Now it makes me nauseous. I’ll never eat it again.”

She and her boyfriend exercise three or four times a week, and while it can be hard to move herself, she said, “It’s starting to feel better for me.” He said.

Ozempic has been designed and approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, but is prescribed outside of blame for obesity. Mounjaro was approved to do the same, but was also prescribed spurious weight loss.

The much-loved drug by celebrities was in short supply until last fall.

Mounjaro contains tilzepatide, an active ingredient that mimics the brain hormones involved in regulating appetite and satiety.

For many body-positive influencers, the rise in the drug’s popularity has overturned a slow, year-long social change towards acceptance of the body. It also sparked anger towards celebrities because of what many saw as jumping into the thinness bandwagon.

Ms Catania said: “I think I broke the mark about being honest about it.”

She also quickly told people that she had a medical need, rather than taking medicine for reasons of vanity. “I’m experiencing menopause. I have a thyroid problem.

“And I exercise, and I don’t eat like crazy, and I was gaining weight, and that’s a lot of different layers.”

Doctors often warn people that these drugs are a very effective tool for weight management, but not the magic bullet of obesity.

“We are a great source of care,” said Amy Lee, Chief Medical Officer at Lyndra Clinic, a weight management company in Southern California. Your body will return to the “baseline.”

A 2023 survey followed 670 people taking tilzepatide for 36 weeks. During that time, people lost an average of 20% of their weight.

Half of the participants then continued to take high doses of tilzepatide for an additional year, and the other half received a placebo injection. Both groups also received lifestyle counseling focusing on reduced calorie intake and regular exercise.

The group that continued tilzepatide lost an average of 5.5% of their body weight, while those who switched to placebo regained 14% of their body weight.

The placebo group also showed increased cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure levels compared to when they were with tilzepatide, according to Dr. Louis Aronne, lead author and director of the study at Weill Cornell Medicine’s comprehensive weight control center. I did.
