Prebiotic and probiotic sodas It created a big stir on the Internet. Whether it is Poppi, Olipopor based in Cambridge Culture Pop, These drinks claim to be a healthier (and cuter) alternative to soda, with the added bonus of supporting gut health.

However, the claims about Poppi’s health face a lawsuitwe needed to know: what are the (real) characteristics of these drinks?

🥤 Prebiotic and probiotic sodas fit into a changing diet culture. “We think of Culture Pop as a healthy little indulgence,” Tom First“It’s a really indulgent drink, but it’s something you can drink every day and feel good about,” says company founder John Meyer, and that’s exactly what the internet wants, he says. Kim Dong-ranThe Boston University marketing professor said that these days, people don’t want to be made to feel guilty about their food choices, but instead value convenience (see: TikTok trends, etc.). Desk Treadmill, Taping the mouthor Lemon Coffee). So a tasty drink in a can that’s supposedly good for you feels like a big win for consumers.

🦠 But is it too good to be true? TLDR: Probably.PrebioticsPoppi and Olipop’s main health selling point is fiber, a type of dietary fiber. Fiber is great for digestion, gut health and regulating blood sugar, but most people don’t get enough of it. But eating a balanced diet that includes vegetables and grains is probably a better way to fill the gap, because it provides more complex prebiotics with vitamins and minerals, nutritionists say. Dr. Joan Sarge Blake.

🫧 Some studies have shown that probiotics may have health benefitsProbiotics are Good bacteria Your gut is rich in probiotics, which are even found in sodas like Culture Pop, but because so much about our gut microbiome is still unknown, it’s hard to know whether any particular probiotic would be particularly helpful without expert input, says Sarge Blake.

💩 Poo for thinking. Sarge-Blake said for some drinkers, especially those on low-fiber diets, such a concentrated amount of prebiotic fiber in just one can could cause stomach upset or digestive problems. Especially in the case of Olipop9 grams per serving. Translation: That might send you racing to the bathroom.

😋 But at the end of the day, don’t let us deny you the deliciousness. Just because these sodas aren’t healthy doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy them: For the sake of your gut, Sarge Blake suggests limiting yourself to one Ollipop a day, but otherwise, they probably won’t do you any harm, especially if you drink them in place of a soda.

This weekend, the Green Monster looked a little… yellow.

Red Sox fans wore bananas and yellow jerseys on Saturday. TikTok famous Savannah Banana As a member of the baseball team, he performed the Banana Ball in front of a packed crowd at Fenway.

For those of you who have never heard of the Bananas, they are basically baseball’s equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters. Check them out below: Catching a pop fly with bare hands during a backflip, Backhand catch, etc— But just a little extra spices.

Spices are Choreographed dance (including the judges!), fan participation, imaginative rules, and other silly surprises (like this one Mid-Innings Baby Race during Saturday’s game).

I’ve been to dozens of Red Sox games, but watching the Banana Bowl was easily the most fun I’ve had at Fenway (especially considering how well the Red Sox have done this season).
