Inside $10k-a-month gym used by mega-rich biohackers – AI prescriptions to vitamin drips

Float rooms, vitamin drips, white glove service, and AI prescription plans are just some of the perks at Continuum, the Manhattan gym of choice for biohackers.

January sees a surge in new memberships as thousands of people flock to their local gyms to sign up, chanting “New Year, New Me” in their heads. But if you want to join a New York gym, be prepared to be on a waiting list for years…and pay $10,000 a month.

Manhattan’s Continuum is a paradise for “biohackers,” people who use scientific methods to hack the body to improve or enhance it. For example, Brian Johnson, a tech billionaire who wants to live forever, made headlines in 2023 after using his son’s blood in a transfusion to slow the aging process.

But Continuum isn’t quite as extreme. With membership limited to 250 people and a waiting list 10 times that long, the ultra-high-net-worth center subjects new members to dozens of tests. So while you’re stopping by the gym to train on the treadmill, gym-goers are changing their aerobic threshold, resting heart rate, cellular health, gut health, brain chemistry, and REM sleep. We are analyzing cycles and harmful loads.

This is incorporated into Continuum’s AI model, which, along with data from the Oura tracking rings worn by gym-goers, creates exercise, sleep and dietary guidelines, as well as recommendations for treatments and services.

Gym may sound like a big deal, but it states that “all measurable aspects of an individual’s physical health are considered, including mobility, strength, endurance, recovery, genetics, and sleep.” Realizing your true ideal is a series of journeys worth pursuing. Is it worth $300 a day? CEO Jeff Halevy thinks so. “I’m not saying membership fees are cheap, but if you look at the price from a value perspective, it’s very easy to justify about $300 a day,” he told the Times.

Split over two floors in a mansion building in the West Village, the gym offers a hyperbaric chamber, cold plunge, float room, physical therapy, vitamin infusions and red light therapy. Staff wear beige clothing, and you can expect white-gloved service, including velvet ropes and doormen upon entry.

Members’ health preferences are addressed by “personal trainers, physical therapists, and practitioners with academic and empirical results.” If you’re not working out or taking advantage of the therapies on offer, you can relax in our signature lounges, hand-selected to “deliver a unique grounding effect that restores the mind and body.” . Continuum also offers a daily rotating menu, full bar, private workspace, and nap pods.

You can apply for membership through the gym’s website, with a promise that the number of members will not exceed 250. The application asks what value you intend to provide to the Continuum community and what excites you most about joining. However, the gym could expand, with gyms potentially opening in Los Angeles and Dubai.
