In the last few episodes, general Hospital, Viewers witnessed Ned (Ashton) Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) return after suffering a form of amnesia and taking on the persona of former rock star Eddie Mayne.
The moment Ned returns, “Eddie” jumps into the water, believing that doing so will help him complete the song and find the “Siren” within it. But things went awry when “Eddie’s” leg got tangled in the net. It’s up to Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) to be Johnny on the scene and jump into the water to rescue her husband.
When they return to land, Ned also returns and has a memorable reunion with Olivia. Next, they headed to the bedroom, and then Ned, freshly shaved and dressed in a suit, headed to the boardroom. It’s far from “Eddie”. Additionally, Ned overhears that Nina (Cynthia Watros) was the one who pointed the finger at Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Matheson) at the SEC just before falling into the Metro Court pool. I remembered. Everyone believed that Ned was the culprit. Olivia comes forward and convinces Ned to sway Sonny (Maurice) and Nina’s remarriage. But will Ned end up setting the record straight?
On Monday, Wally Kurth and Lisa LoCicero participated in a livestream chat. Michael Fairman Channel on You TubeThere, they talked about the water rescue scene, their enduring on-screen relationship, and teased what’s to come with Ned’s return. Here are some key excerpts from the discussion.
Wally revealed whether there was any pressure to get to the big moment when “Eddie” became Ned. He said: “My biggest fear was that this amnesia storyline would play out. And then I’d look back on it and go through all that stuff, like being in the water, and feel like I landed. You know. Like, it was really sweet and magical. I think it was a success. So I’m happy with how it turned out. You can see it’s going upwards with the soap. You just I keep moving, and now I’m back in the suit and tie and back to being Ned. I’ll always miss Eddie. Eddie’s probably more like Wally than anyone else.”
Lisa shared her thoughts on playing the story of Olivia trying to deal with this “Eddie version” of her husband: A different person. Sometimes a little hand wringing can make a big difference. And as the story progresses, you have to add different levels of concern. If there is no drama in a soap opera, there is no story. So you too have to be like a shark. Not to keep up the sea analogy. You have to keep swimming forward. I love acting in drama, and I really enjoyed watching Wally play different characters. It was all fun. ”
While filming the underwater scenes, making sure the dialogue was appropriate was something director Kurth wanted to make sure was conveyed properly for the storyline, sharing: “I don’t normally like to ask for two or three takes, but I thought I needed to get this right. I kept messing up the lyrics and the song was written using this song. It was so clear and specific. Emotions were running high and just uploading that line was hard. I wanted to make sure we did it right. Looking back. It felt like it made sense emotionally, which is the most important thing…but I also needed to say those words.”
In breaking down what actually happened to get Ned to become “Eddie” in the first place, Wally opined: He definitely flipped out. He simply chose to go to a happy place instead of where he was. Given everything that was going on at ELQ, I think he just kind of walked away and thought, “Well, this is a much better place.” I like that. I like it here better than in real life. ‘ That’s how I looked at it. Almost like a midlife crisis. ”
LoCicero knows that Olivia might come under fire from fans for telling Ned not to make waves for Sonny and Nina when Ned was criticized for putting Drew and Carly in the SEC. Even though it was Nina who did the act, she clarified that “Carly is happy.” , she gets along well with Nina, and she doesn’t want Sonny to break his heart. Let’s make that clear. ”
As for what Ned will do with the information against Nina, “He might use that information for his own benefit at headquarters. I mean, he’s been keeping himself locked away for the last six or seven months. He’s just come back from what he thought was star Eddie Mayne. So when it comes to protecting his reputation, he’s not high on his list at the moment.” Wally added, “Ned is… Tracy’s son, Lord Ashton’s son who was a con artist. I’m glad Ned has finally given me something to do without having to think about blackmailing someone or being duplicitous. Something a little naughty. I like it when I’m doing it. I think that’s Ned.”
This story gave Lisa and Lena Sofer (Lois) a chance to work together again. But will Lisa see Olivia worrying about Lois and her ex, Ned? LoCicero said, “Tracy keeps telling her to do it, but Olivia isn’t of her own volition. She’s really happy to have her friend back and they love each other. It’s true. Even if… , it’s weird that we have best friends and we’ve never talked about it. It’s weird that we say, “Oh yeah, best friend, you married my ex-husband, right?” That’s true. So we’re going to get to a place where it’s addressed, it will be. It’s both dramatic and realistic. It’s always great when something is dramatic and realistic. There were some scenes that we hadn’t shot yet, and they dramatized it beautifully. I really enjoy working with Lena. ”
Will something happen to tear Ned and Olivia apart? “I think the only thing that will really drive her away from him is some sort of emotional betrayal,” Lisa said in her opinion.
