Hannah Barry uncovers toxic tactics fitness influencers use, admits to misinforming fans

A fitness influencer has revealed her industry’s most toxic secret, claiming that everything from targeted fat loss to ab workouts is a “bull**t.”

Hannah Barry has admitted to using tactics to trick his followers over the years, but is now exposing them to clean up the industry.

The UK-based health coach has her eye on everything from clean eating to supplements to one-on-one coaching in her epic TikTok takedowns.

“I used to be a really toxic fitness influencer,” she admitted.

“Now I’m not so toxic, but I want to talk to you about some bull**t happening within the industry.”

one-on-one coaching

The personalized coaching you’re paying for online is probably done by the “shadow” of your favorite coach.

“You’re not actually being coached by the people you’re being coached by,” she said.

Target specific regions

“You can’t lose fat,” she said.

This includes stomach fat or arm fat.

She says the only way to reduce these areas is to maintain a calorie deficit until you lose weight where you need it.

This happens in turn according to your own genetics.

She said workouts that target abdominal fat are useless because they can't burn fat from specific areas.

abs workout

She admits that these were posted “purely for engagement” and that she never actually did what she advertised online.

“They’ve been viewed millions of times,” she admitted.

“Ab workouts don’t build abs.”

Instead, tell your followers to do heavy squats, deadlifts, and heavy compounds instead.

“Body fat percentage determines how visible your abs are. This depends on what you eat.”

general viral workout

The next viral workout she hit back at is the treadmill workout, which recommends specific inclines and paces to help you reach your weight and physique goals.

“Another bull,” she said.

Not taking rest days is also dangerous, but it’s becoming more popular with its viral “discipline”-based approach to fitness.

supplement

According to the trainer, hormone-balancing smoothies, cleanses, and detoxes all don’t help.

“We have the liver because it detoxifies the body,” she said.

She believes protein supplements are good, but warns that they’re not magic.

“Even if you start taking protein supplements, if you don’t eat enough overall, you won’t get the results you want.

food

According to a young woman, eating clean is a myth and sugar won’t make you fat.

“The only people who don’t need to eat gluten are those who have an intolerance to it,” she said.

She also warned that there are many people with eating disorders in the fitness influencer community.

She said eating clean tricks your brain into thinking fast food is “bad.”

what works?

“The only thing that actually causes fat loss is a calorie deficit,” she said.

“So if you decide to stop eating after 6pm, that’s pretty miserable. If you cut out gluten and stop eating white bread, your body doesn’t care.”

She added that it is silly to assume that someone’s health is based on their appearance.

Hannah also revealed that top influencers will be asking for the rights to her makeover photos.

She said women provide money for photos of her that show her overweight, underweight, and strong physique.

“They wanted to sell it as if I did their workout program,” she said.
