Burger King has the “Impossible Whopper,” Jack in the Box offers the “Impossible” patty as a burger option, and McDonald’s (Germany) recently debuted plant nuggets. Other fast food franchises that once offered “vegetarian” options (products are still grilled on the same surface as beef or chicken) include Cheesecake Factory, Qdoba, Chipotle, Red Robin, Johnny Rockets, White Castle.new study from food research international reveals that despite or despite the growing popularity of plant-based protein products, “overall sensory ratings remain low.”
“This study used open-ended questions, preference rankings, and specific questions to analyze sensory factors and barriers to liking four burger patties. one called a pea protein burger, another called an animal (protein burger), one meat and mushroom hybrid burger, and one 100% beef burger.”
The results may surprise you. “The results of the ranking test for blinded and informed treatments showed that animal-like protein was the most preferred product, followed by 100% beef burger. There was no significant difference in liking between the burgers” and the hybrid burger and the pea protein burger. ”
