Image, or image really, is everything when it comes to staying healthy. Along with a head-to-toe checkup at the doctor’s office and an annual Well-Woman exam, diagnostic imaging tests ensure that everything beneath the surface is working properly and detect conditions that need treatment. helps diagnose and monitor
Nuclear medicine allows us to see images of organ function. Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive material to study the heart and lungs to diagnose bone cancer, bone infections, and stress fractures. The radioactive material is placed inside the patient’s body by injection, swallowing, or inhalation, and images of the organ system in question are taken with a special camera.
Whether you need imaging tests or procedures for routine check-ups or injuries, you can have confidence in NRMC’s technology and experienced team. In addition, patients can now register for the imaging service Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm in the patient registration area at the entrance to the radiology department (Fifth Avenue, east of the facility).
