One man revealed how he lost 10 stones after adopting a strict diet and fitness regime and entering a “wild and off-the-grid” environment.
Brian O’Keeffe, 34, from Cork, Ireland, decided he needed to take drastic action after reaching 2 pounds, the 24th most weighted for the end of 2021.
Having tried “every diet and exercise fad” and even gastric band surgery, he knew he had to try something different.
The entrepreneur then spent seven months in Mallorca secretly transforming his body through diet and exercise.
However, due to this move, communication with friends and family was also cut off, and after returning home, he surprised his friends with a surprising change.

In an Instagram video documenting his weight loss, Bryan said he wanted to wear other clothes, feel confident in himself and his body, and be happy.

Bryan followed the 2,200-calorie limit for six straight months, then reduced to 1,750 calories a day for the final month, exercising about five hours each day.

He said, “For seven months I hadn’t taken a day off. I couldn’t count how many injuries I had, but I refused to quit and pushed through the pain to keep training.
“Every day, I did everything I could to get one more rep, one more mile, one kilometer, one percent better.”

Starting the challenge in late 2021, Brian explained how he began his weight loss adventure.
Many obese people are happy with their weight, but Brian was determined to get leaner and healthier.
Brian documented the moment he showed off his new look to his stunned family in disbelief.
Brian is now a weight loss instructor and regularly posts the tips he learns on Instagram.
He started with moderate exercise, walking about 90 minutes a day for the first two weeks. This changed to an even harsher five-hour work day.
He incorporated weightlifting six days a week, swimming three times a week, and running three times a week.
Just three months after moving to the Balearic Islands, Bryan, who was 21 stone and a half at the time, ran the first 5km in just over 30 minutes.

During his weight loss journey, Brian tracked “everything” including calories, steps and sleep.
He also adhered to the minimum daily protein intake of 200g.
At one point he gave up and wanted to eat McDonald’s, but the nearest McDonald’s was an hour’s drive away, so he didn’t care.
“It was months of absolute agony,” Brian said. For the first three months I could do nothing but eat, sleep and exercise.
“But after four months, my body got used to the constant heartbeat and it wasn’t so bad.”
For seven months, Bryan told only one friend, Colm Keenan, about his weight loss journey.
He called home twice a week to talk to his father, who has Alzheimer’s disease, when his mother was away.
