We recently covered walking training from a trainer. Justin Augustin And I fell in love with his no-nonsense approach to fitness. So when I was struggling with lower back tightness after a heavy lower body lifting session, I decided to look through his previous Instagram reels to see if there were any workout routines that could help.
We’ve found a quick and efficient one-movement session from our trainer that you can easily recreate at home. I practiced the 90-second movements all day long, using my kitchen counter as support, just like Augustine does on his reels. This is how it affected my lower back.
How to train
my results
1. My lower back felt loose.
My lower back is a problem area for me, but it felt a lot looser after doing this move. It only took 90 seconds, but I no longer felt any tightness in my hip flexors or restricted movement in my hip.
Hip health is essential for good aging, and good mobility “supports proper posture and alignment, leading to longevity as it reduces the risk of chronic pain and musculoskeletal problems,” says Agustin. he explains in the caption.
2. Made while brewing coffee
I can’t stress enough how important it is to incorporate fitness into your day. This served as a type of workout snack for me. Whenever I went to make coffee, I did Agustin’s hip routine, completing a total of five run-throughs throughout the day.
By the time I sat down to drink my last drink, I could feel the effects. After the first session, I felt like my lower back had loosened up, but by the fifth session, I could feel the effect on other parts of my body as the exercises relaxed my lower back and buttocks. Like Agustin’s other workouts, this session is short and intense, but can be repeated as many times as you like for added benefits.
3. Walking your dog at night has become more comfortable.
Sitting at a desk all day can make your hip flexors feel tight. These muscles (the ones that run along the front of your pelvis) need to be stretched regularly if you have a sedentary job. Otherwise, the muscles will be shortened and movement will be poor.
When I go out to walk my dog after a day’s work, I usually notice that my lower back hurts. It feels especially tight when climbing hills and can cause sudden pain in your lower back. However, since I had been working on my lower back throughout the day, I felt much better. You can now move more comfortably and freely, even on steep slopes.
