How to induce labour naturally:

by Universalwellnesssystems

When the time comes for your baby to be born, waiting for the contractions becomes difficult. There are safe and natural ways to induce labor.

Later in pregnancy, your doctor may become concerned about your health. Sometimes women are just tired of waiting so long to meet their baby. Therefore, you may want to speed up the process by safely inducing labor. A 2022 study published in the US National Library of Medicine showed that walking for 30 minutes at 4km/h three times a week starting at 38 weeks pregnant may help induce labor. We will teach you natural ways to induce labor.

Dr Meshba Patel, an infertility and IVF specialist at Delhi’s Aveya IVF and Fertility Center, says women usually have to wait 40 weeks to meet their baby unless there are complications with the pregnancy. But some babies need their time to come out of her womb.

The successful birth of your baby is influenced by three main factors:

• Power (uterine contractions)
• Passage (female pelvis)
• Passenger (fetus)

Problems with any of these factors, such as weak or weak uterine contractions, a narrow or misshapen pelvis, and a large or abnormally positioned baby, can cause birth to take longer than usual. Masu. In these cases, women may have to choose caesarean section or instrumental delivery (forceps and vacuum).

If it takes time for your baby to enter this world, you can also induce labor naturally. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Nipple stimulation

This includes gently massaging and rolling the nipples. This releases oxytocin, a hormone that causes uterine contractions. It’s important to do this carefully to avoid overstimulation, which can cause excessive contractions, experts warn.

2. Perineal massage

Massaging the area between the vagina and anus (perineum) can help soften and stretch the tissue. This may reduce the risk of birth lacerations and increase blood flow to the area, facilitating labor.

3. Exercise

Staying active during pregnancy through activities like walking and prenatal yoga can help you stay in good shape for birth. Exercise can also encourage your baby to move into a better position for birth, which may naturally induce labor.

4. Sex

Sex can stimulate labor because it can help the cervix mature and release prostaglandins, hormones that stimulate contractions. Also, body movements during sex can encourage the baby to descend into the birth canal, Dr. Patel told Healthshot. However, scientific evidence in this regard is insufficient.

5. Acupuncture

Acupuncture has long been practiced in traditional Chinese medicine and involves inserting thin needles into specific pressure points on the body, which stimulates the release of oxytocin and may facilitate childbirth.

6. Shiatsu

Acupressure is similar to acupuncture, but involves applying pressure to specific points on the body with your fingers or hands. When used correctly, it can relax the body, reduce stress, and facilitate childbirth.

7. Chinese medicine

Some herbal remedies, such as dates, castor oil, raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, pineapple, and papaya, are believed to induce uterine contractions and help the uterus open more easily.

There is also a membrane strip (also called a membrane sweep) to guide the member. This is a medical procedure in which a medical professional uses their fingers to slightly separate the amniotic sac from the cervix, Dr. Patel explains. This releases prostaglandins, which in some cases can cause contractions.

Inducing labor is safe, but always contact your doctor to avoid complications.
