Itzik Benabouowner of Crown Heights’ largest retail chain, has introduced his newest addition to the neighborhood: House of Glatts.
House of Glatt is located on the corner of Kingston Avenue and Crown Street and has been open since 1977.
Its owner was R’ Yisroel Dutchman OBM, Passionate Chosid. He sold the business to his son-in-law. Alke ZivinTsybin has been running it with his son-in-law. ben garman.
In 2018, it was acquired by Benabou, which operates Kingston Pizza and beyond, Kol Toub grocery stores, Empire Kosher and The Marketplace supermarkets.
Recognizing its name recognition, Benabou plans to maintain the House of Grat brand and offer the same popular cuts and takeout for which the restaurant was known.
COLlive was told that under CHK Kosher supervision, the newly opened House of Glatt will have its own kitchen and will use different recipes than Benabou’s other establishments.
The restaurant has a soft opening this week and plans to expand its menu in the coming days. Benabou also plans to offer to-go sandwiches, including deli and schnitzel sandwiches.
