Hospitals that are members of the Greater Dayton Regional Hospital Association have the following restrictions:
・Please refrain from visiting if you have respiratory symptoms such as cough or fever.
— No visitors under 14 years of age
Hospitals may institute more restrictive visitation policies when serving specific patient populations, such as pediatric patients, burn patients, transplant patients, or ICU patients. Out of an abundance of caution for patients and their families, the hospital will implement visitor restrictions. Hospital staff work with patients on a case-by-case basis to ensure they receive the support they need throughout the continuum of care.
“Restricting visitors with respiratory symptoms such as fever or cough and children under 14 are important precautions,” said Sarah Hacken, president and CEO of the Greater Dayton Regional Hospital Association. Bracht said.
“Hospitals want to ensure that our patients and employees are protected from respiratory infections, including seasonal influenza viruses, in order to provide the highest quality of care in the region,” she said.
To prevent the spread of respiratory infections to others, doctors recommend washing your hands carefully, coughing or sneezing into your sleeve or into a tissue, and staying home from work or school for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone. We encourage you to stay at home.
