Hitchcock HS senior went from being told she would never walk to becoming dance team captain

KPRC2 and american furniture warehouse Amazingly, there are 20 high school seniors who deserve scholarships in 2023. All students selected for scholarships are nominated by their high school.

This year’s fifth $2,500 scholarship winner is Samaritan Kingston, currently a senior at Hitchcock High School in the Hitchcock School District.

During his time in high school, Kingston participated in several organizations such as the National Honor Society and Students Standing Strong, maintained a 3.8 GPA, and ranked in the top five in the advanced class of 109 students.

Kingston has faced some battles growing up. The largest was born with amniotic band syndrome and was told that he would never be able to walk and would have to rely on a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I became the captain of my high school dance team.

Kingston has been accepted to the University of Houston, where he plans to study medicine in hopes of becoming a doctor.
