High school students in Billings taken to hospital for drug related medical emergency | Top Story

Billings police say the medical emergency that put West High School into a soft lockdown on Wednesday was drug-related.

Billings police say the medical emergency that put West High School into a soft lockdown on Wednesday was drug-related.

The Billings Police Department (BPD) reports that a school resource officer responded to a complaint that three 14-year-old boys overdosed after ingesting a substance.

Two students were taken to a local hospital and the third was released to his parents.

An initial investigation found students were consuming Dab, a cannabis concentrate containing high levels of THC, according to the BPD.

Superintendent Greg Upham said the student who was taken to the hospital was conscious and conscious.

There is currently no indication that other types of drugs were used or were present during the incident.

The Billings Police Department said it is working with District 2 officials to investigate the possession and/or distribution of Dove.


Billings, Mont. – Students at West High School in Billings were put into a soft lockdown Wednesday morning.

At around 8:35am, the students were put into a soft lockdown due to a medical emergency.

The lockdown was lifted at 9:37 am after the incident was resolved.

School continues as normal for the rest of the day.

No further details have been announced at this time.
