Medical experts, entrepreneurs, and academics representing every major industry sector will gather for a day-long conference themed “AI, Elections, and the Economy,” hosted by Patty School of the University of Miami and Alan Herbert School of Business.
“Artificial intelligence (AI) is having a major impact on many aspects of the industry, and we are working hard to investigate the impact of it and other innovations that raise new questions about the future of healthcare delivery and patients. “In terms of assisting with diagnostics, changing the revenue cycle of a system, or creating appropriate individualized nutritional plans, AI will have a significant impact on the industry in ways that tend to correlate with changes in the political and economic arena. ,” Ullman added.
Over 20 industry leaders will share their insights and generate predictions across three different panels. Speakers include major U.S. providers, payers, and pharmaceutical industry organizations. At the opening panel, the university president Julio FrenkThe public health expert headlined a conversation about how AI is impacting medical education, clinical care delivery, and the business of healthcare to improve efficiency. The potential impact of the upcoming presidential election on medical education and innovation will also be explored.
Dr. Rubin Pillay, healthcare AI futurist, professor, and chief innovation officer for health systems at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will deliver the keynote address. Pillay's current research focuses on the role of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the transformation of medicine and healthcare.
The second panel will convene executives representing a variety of healthcare sectors to share insights on key issues pressing in the year ahead. In the final panel, established and emerging companies in the AI and healthcare space will examine innovations that are already having a significant impact on the industry. The panel discussion will be moderated by Patrick J. Geraghty, President and CEO of GuideWell and Florida Blue. Florida Blue once again serves as the presenting sponsor and major donor for the event.
13th The annual conference is held in the university's Donna E. Shalala Student Center. As with last year, approximately 500 participants are expected and sessions will be live-streamed worldwide. A limited number of her VITAS Healthcare scholarships will be offered to students.
