Health care leaders to examine innovations and industry tensions

Medical experts, entrepreneurs, and academics representing every major industry sector will gather for a day-long conference themed “AI, Elections, and the Economy,” hosted by Patty School of the University of Miami and Alan Herbert School of Business.

“Artificial intelligence (AI) is having a major impact on many aspects of the industry, and we are working hard to investigate the impact of it and other innovations that raise new questions about the future of healthcare delivery and patients. Dr. Rubin Pillay, healthcare AI futurist, professor, and chief innovation officer for health systems at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will deliver the keynote address. Pillay's current research focuses on the role of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the transformation of medicine and healthcare.

The second panel will convene executives representing a variety of healthcare sectors to share insights on key issues pressing in the year ahead. In the final panel, established and emerging companies in the AI ​​and healthcare space will examine innovations that are already having a significant impact on the industry. The panel discussion will be moderated by Patrick J. Geraghty, President and CEO of GuideWell and Florida Blue. Florida Blue once again serves as the presenting sponsor and major donor for the event.
