Social media offers aspiring influencers one of the fastest ways to grow their followers and build an audience. In a recent Instagram video, two gym buddies tried to shoulder-press heavy barbells together, nearly sustaining serious injuries, before being beaten up by fans online.
People keep doing crazy things online in hopes of going viral. Some engage in hilarious pranks and amazing feats, while others seek to push boundaries for fame. Fitness sensation Lever King made his mark by eating raw meat and training insane. Meanwhile, influencer Joey Suwoll has made a name for himself by spearheading the rise of toxic gym culture over the past few years.
In June 2022, a female TikToker made headlines when she angrily confronted a gym employee for glaring at her while changing into a sports bra. She falsely accused her employee of being a pervert, so she was stripped of her gym membership. Afterwards, she received a violent message from Suwol asking her to reflect on her own actions and to act better for her.
In July 2022, a female TikToker named Alice Elizabeth stunned gym-goers with her incredible strength. Elizabeth casually walked up to the heavy barbell and she did six 120kg deadlifts and held off the other one. Gym-goers were awed by what they witnessed.
Zach Charlesworth, a Montreal college student, was tricked into competing in a bodybuilding competition by friends last September. He was mistakenly thought they were going swimming, but he ended up on stage next to the men’s physique contestants at the Montreal Sumam Classic.
In another situation, a female TikToker uploaded a clip mocking other gym members who moan loudly as they lift weights. Suwol hit back at the woman’s offensive messages and advised her to work with her to make the gym a safe place for everyone.
Suwol took issue with TikToker’s Jessica Fernandez, who earlier this year threw insults at a man who glanced in her direction and offered her help. Fernandez later admitted she was wrong in trying to label the man a freak and apologized for her actions.
TikTok user Neuas Sharif was admiring his progress in the training room when he bent over so hard that he fell face-first into the mirror. The incident seriously injured Sharif, breaking his nose three months ago. The latest influencers to try their luck in front of the cameras were a couple of gym pals who were looking to pull off an unconventional lift.
Jim Brothers who risked his life due to Jim’s failure is a big flame on the net
In a recent Instagram post, two gym buddies risked their lives in a failed gym stunt and were torn apart online.
The two tried to shoulder press heavy barbells together. However, a bar crashed over them and they were knocked to the ground. The cameraman was also shocked by this event and collapsed.
The reaction was overwhelming, with many expressing disapproval of the stunt.
“No hospital? Try again! Want to see them hurt,” wrote one user.
“Good… of course,” commented another.
One user protested, “Please stop fooling around at the gym for TikTok.”
“What stupid brand did they sprinkle on the protein this morning?” asked another.
One person commented, “I broke my hip just by looking at this.”
“When?” said another voice.
One user commented: “It’s a shame because I thought at least one person would be seriously injured.”
Two months ago, an online trend caught the attention of the fitness community when TikToker suggested incorporating pedigree dog food into their diet to increase their total daily protein intake. The users who started the trend eventually came clean about the prank and urged the public not to eat dog food for protein.
