It is very common in Gujarati and Rajasthani households and is known to be very beneficial to our health. Introducing an interesting raab recipe “Gond ki raab” that will help you boost your immunity this winter.

What is Gond Ki Raab?

Larb is a warm and healthy porridge-like drink that is often made during the winter months. Traditionally it is made with wheat flour, gud (jaggery) and ghee, but this one is made with gong. Gond is basically an edible gum and is used as an ingredient in various dishes. To make this larb, first fry the gond and then mix it with nuts, spice powder and coconut. Finally, boil the mixture in jaggery-infused water.

absolutely! Gond, the main ingredient in this larb, has significant benefits for our health, including the immune system. Some studies suggest that gong contains antibacterial properties that prevent infections. Apart from boosting immunity, gond is also great for strengthening bones and relieving joint pain.

Gond Ki Laab Recipe | How to make Gond Ki Laab

This Gond Ki Laab recipe was shared by Instagram page @meghnasfoodmagic. First, start by frying the gond in a kadai with a little ghee. Fry until fluffy and crispy. It takes 7-8 minutes. When it's done, transfer it to a bowl and mash it with a rolling pin. To this add songsu, ginger powder, ghantoda powder, cardamom powder, chopped almonds and grated coconut. Mix well and set aside. Next, boil water in a kadai and add jaggery to it. Bring to a boil and then add the prepared gond and sonsu mixture. Continue to simmer on medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Transfer to a cup and enjoy hot! Homemade gondokirabu is completed!
