Wellfest returns for its 8th edition this weekend. It’s a sure sign that summer is just around the corner.
Over the past few years, this health and fitness festival has continued to attract more than 10,000 yogis, gym bunnies, and cacao enthusiasts.
This weekend is no exception, with a stellar line-up of new and returning fitness celebrities set to take to the stage in the grounds of Kilmainham Royal Hospital in Dublin.
There’s a lot to absorb during live trainings, food demonstrations, talks, and more. We’ve carefully selected the top experiences you won’t want to miss.
Choreographer and dance coach Don King Longavilla is a veteran of the Wellfest lineup, and for good reason.
He brings a ton of enthusiasm and cheesy songs to Wellfest’s dance class. This year, he had the honor of opening and closing the festival.
Catch him on the main stage at 10:10am for a great start to your game, or end your weekend on a high with Sunday at 5pm.
Everyone’s favorite HIIT instructor, Joe Wicks, is back this year to take everyone through their paces.
Expect burpees, mountain climbers, sumo squats and more during the 45-minute workouts on the main stage starting at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Make sure your water bottle is full.
The pharmacist has just finished his “Viva la Vulva” tour.
do not be afraid. She’ll be bringing her vulva doll to her WellTalk stage on Saturdays at 2pm to bring her shameless and humorous approach to women’s health and well-being.
Last year, her talk (with plenty of time for questions from the audience) was one of the festival’s highlights.
From fast-based vinyasa flows to sleep-inducing nidra practices, you can spend the day in the WellYoga tent.
Saturday, 12.25pm, Clare-based Caroline Lune O’Connor’s Power Yoga combines bodyweight, mini loops/resistance bands and core work to target all major muscle groups. You can expect to feel the heat now.
On the main stage from 4pm on the same day.
Star and sunrise enthusiast Maura Russ (Yoga with Maura) will be one of the highlights of the event.Vogue Williams has praised coach John Belton for years, so it’s no surprise that the two teamed up earlier this year to launch a new workout app, Flexy Fit.
The duo will take to the main stage on Saturday at 1pm and lead participants through an intense 45-minute full-body workout at their own pace.
The natural health industry is abuzz with the topic of antioxidant-rich cocoa beans from Latin America.
Try it out with facilitator Amanda Mullen on Saturday at 3:45pm in the Reform Tent.
If you missed it, Nibbled Cacao will be handing out free samples at their vendor tent.
A new addition to this year’s festival is the Well Energy Area.
Here, you’ll find saunas, hot tubs, ice baths, and treatments such as facelift massages and systematic kinesiology.
Additional charges apply for this area. Treatments cost 50 euros per 30 minute session, hot tub and sauna cost 30 euros (both 30 minute sessions) and ice baths cost 20 euros for 20 minutes. (Although I doubt you’ll be able to attend the entire session).
Sound therapy seems to be booming again at the moment.
Stretch out surrounded by Tibetan bowls, gongs, chimes and drums as Emma West leads a sound bath experience in the WellYoga tent on Saturday at 5:20pm and Sunday at 4:35pm.
This seems like a relaxing way to end the day.
