Olive oil is a beloved staple in many kitchens, and it’s no secret that vibrant coloured oils take on a ton of health benefits. Contains monosaturated fats, regular consumption of olive oil can improve heart and brain health and reduce symptoms of inflammation. The ingredients are also an integral part of the Mediterranean diet and are touted as one of the healthiest diets.
Some people started to bring oil into their morning routine by knocking down the entire shot every day, but Giada de Laurentiis shared an easy way to incorporate it.
The celebrity chef went to Instagram to give him ideas about the trends and wholeheartedly agreed that olive oil was not only tasty, but also packed with many health benefits. After that, she shares her favorite way to drizzle the oil with a bit of olive oil on top of her bowl of oatmeal. She also pointed out that she would be happy to pour into a bowl of grain and toast by her side, depending on her mood that morning.
Instagram viewers have mixed feelings about the concept, with one commenter sharing that his grandfather “drunk a spoonful every morning in the 90s.” Another commenter wasn’t very enthusiastic and claimed that “one million other ways can be considered,” and they wanted to incorporate oils rather.
Adding amazing ingredients to an oat piping hot bowl may feel a bit quirky, but I think it’s worth a try. Olive oil has a rich flavor profile that works well with textures, but of course it’s easier than taking a shot!
If you need suggestions on how to incorporate it, you can try the old-fashioned oatmeal. Or, serve delicious oatmeal with cheddar, collard or eggs with olive oil, or sriracha, eggs and avocado overnight oats, and really lean overnight oats. Either way, adding olive oil to your diet is a great way to improve your health, even if you use it.
