- Dr Megan Rossi says apples can deodorize garlic breath
- She suggests eating it with garlic-rich dishes
A top doctor shares a simple trick to get rid of garlic breath without brushing your teeth.
Dr. Megan Rossi has revealed that eating apples is the most effective way to get rid of bad breath caused by garlic.
Adding mint gum is much more effective than “deodorizing” bad breath because it stops the odor at the source.
Garlic can stay in your breath for up to a day, says Dr. Megan, and can be eaten with apples and other vegetable-rich foods or side dishes.
“When garlic is digested, garlic by-products are absorbed into the bloodstream and carried to the lungs,” she explained on Instagram. director.
“This gives them a ‘repetitive performance’ that chewing gum can’t quite get rid of. ”
She named four foods that can freshen your breath, including mint and parsley, as well as spinach and lettuce.
Doctors also recommended letting minced garlic sit for 10 minutes before cooking so that more of the active ingredient, allicin, which supports the immune system, is released.
Hundreds of fans of the popular scientist have joked that they’ve come back to life knowing about a useful hack that will make them carry an apple with them wherever they go.
Doctors say apples contain phytochemicals that have been shown to interact with sulfur compounds in garlic to deodorize breath and eliminate garlic odors.
Dr. Megan added that mint, parley, lettuce, and spinach are also foods that help eliminate bad breath while supporting the gut microbes.
Even if you don’t eat apples, the health benefits of garlic are worth the risk of bad breath, Dr. Megan said.
“The main active ingredient is allicin, which supports the immune system in fighting viruses,” she said.
“A 2001 clinical trial showed that taking a garlic supplement daily reduced both the chance of catching a cold and recovery time.”
To maximize the benefits of the flavorful vegetable, crush or mince the garlic and let it sit for 10 minutes before eating or cooking, Dr. Megan said.
If you let the garlic sit in advance, allicin will fully develop before the enzyme is deactivated by the heat of cooking.
“What an interesting tip! I’m definitely going to try this,” one follower replied.
“Doing God’s work so you can enjoy garlic without the side effects of breath.”
‘Both my teenagers smelled it that week! Great hack,’ the mother wrote.
But not everyone has an apple served with garlic bread and one woman is smiling. I have been smelling garlic for 40 years. I’m sure others do too.
“That’s so funny, Meghan!! But strangely enough, I like my garlic breath.
