former teacher from Bournemouth I wrote the book after witnessing my students’ mental health decline during exams.
Nicole Bateman is gearing up for the launch of My Child Is Taking Exams…What Now? This is her own comprehensive guide on how to support your child during exams for parents of children ages 10 to 18.
It is based on her own experience as a teacher and her willingness to take the pressure off her struggling students.

“While parents naturally want their children to be well prepared for the future, the pressure of exams can be overwhelming for both students and parents.
“This book is for parents who want their children to reach their full potential without negatively impacting their mental health.”
The new book covers the “Organized Revision Method” explained by Nicole. It describes it as a “nurturing approach” to help parents get the most out of their children while still connecting with them.
Featuring Nicole, and experts in the following areas educationhome organization and family meal planning, and shares tips parents can implement to help their kids tackle exams in a healthy way.

She said: “Exams should be like learning to play a game and should not be a measure of someone’s worth.”
There is an online launch event for “My child has an exam… What are you doing now?” February 2.
Alongside writing the book, Nicole also runs her own business (A Box Full of Joy) and was named Rising Star/Young Entrepeneur at last year’s Bournemouth Business Awards.
Launching in August 2021, A Box Full of Joy offers workshops and coaching as well as unique products to support young people who struggle to communicate their feelings.
She said she was inspired to start the business after her son was diagnosed with epilepsy and struggled to express his emotions.
