A Miami man out for his morning workouts had a horrifying encounter with a giant alligator about 11 feet long. The alligator was found just outside the Homestead Sports Complex and was later captured by the local wildlife management service, Pesky Critters.

A video of the incident was posted online. The clip shows a giant alligator snapping its jaws and banging its tail against the local Wildlife Service team. However, after much struggle, they were able to capture the crocodile. Nasty Creatures described the alligator as “like something out of Jurassic Park.”

A Pesky Critters spokeswoman told Newsweek: “This is the largest alligator captured in Miami-Dade County in years.” A spokeswoman said residents were so frightened that they called the police. The troublesome Critters were also called to the scene.

The spokesperson added, “After a fierce battle with the alligator, who repeatedly charged at his owner, Todd Hardwick, he received additional support from local police to ensure the safety of his surroundings while he wrestled with the alligator. We secured it and successfully captured the crocodile.”

Earlier, a 23-year-old man from Florida lost an arm in an alligator attack near Fort Myers. He was attacked in the pond behind Banditos Bar in Port Charlotte.

After receiving reports that a man had been bitten by an alligator, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and EMS officials coordinated with the state wildlife service to respond to the incident.

Wildlife officials later admitted that the 10 1/2-foot-long alligator was later killed.
