Last week, hospital leaders from across the Sunshine State gathered in Florida's capital city for the Florida Hospital Association's annual Hospital Days event.
This two-day advocacy event provided hospital leaders an opportunity to interact with state legislators on hospital policy issues during the 2024 legislative session.

Mr. Santorio emphasized the importance of the Live Healthy package and emphasized legislative leaders' unwavering commitment to hospitals, patients, and health care workers.
“Hospital Days creates an important forum for open and collaborative dialogue that enables comprehensive legislation like the Live Healthy package,” he said.
FHA envisions a modern, sophisticated, patient-centered health care delivery system and continues to work with hospitalists and state leaders to ensure a healthier future for all Floridians. FHA continues to steadfastly support policies that develop Florida's health care workforce, encourage innovation, and improve access to health care.

She highlighted the hospital's collaborative efforts to support innovative health care delivery systems that advance medicine and improve access to health services.
“I am proud that Florida’s hospitals are responding to the situation as our state’s population continues to rapidly grow.Florida’s hospitals are working together to provide quality care in every corner of our state. ,” Mayhew said.
Several notable events took place during Hospital Day.
On Tuesday, FHA held a board meeting with guests. Kevin GuthrieDirector of Crisis Management; Kevin O'Farrell, Chancellor of Career and Technical Education, Florida Department of Education. Tuesday night concluded with a reception for association members and a hospital CEO dinner, giving hospital executives an opportunity to share ideas and best practices with each other.
Wednesday's agenda included a Hospital Day legislative briefing with House speaker candidates. Danny PerezSpeaker of the House of Representatives paul rennerCongressman. Hilary Cassel and Sam GarrisonSen. colleen burton. These leaders shared insights about the Florida Legislature's continued efforts to strengthen the state's health care system.
To conclude Hospital Day, FHA members traveled to the Capitol to meet with members of Congress and participate in committee meetings.
With more than 320 hospitals serving more than 22 million Floridians, the state's healthcare system is a vital infrastructure for addressing the health and well-being of individuals and families.
Florida hospitals are essential in supporting health and wellness across multiple life stages, from infancy to compassionate end-of-life care.
